The
Kids’ Turn Nonviolent Family Skills Program is offered
in San Francisco to adults and juveniles who are court
ordered as a result of violent family episodes impacting
their children. Because of the very specialized nature

ADULT PROGRAM
Workshops are
offered at Kids’ Turn , Bayview Hunter’s Point Family
Resource Center* and the Western Addition*
Who should
attend?
Parents,
grandparents , caregivers or future parents of children
experiencing violence in their families or
relationships.
What is the
program format?
The program is
educational in nature (not therapy). It requires an
eighteen week commitment, 2.0 hours per week.
What will
participants learn?
Program
participants will learn effective ways to support
children’s social, emotional and mental health needs
while acquiring new skills to manage their relationships
free from violence. Also included is valuable
information on children’s familial needs and how family
changes (divorce or separation) can impact those needs.

YOUTH PROGRAM
(Offered in a partnership with the Youth Guidance
Center)
Who should
attend?
Those youth or
teens adjudicated through Juvenile Family Violence
Court.
What is the
program format?
The program is
educational in nature (not therapy). It requires a
fourteen week commitment, 1.5 hours per week.
What will
participants learn?
Program
participants will learn about the impact of violence on
families and alternative ways for them to manage their
family lives violence free.
