T. Berry Brazelton

Kids' Turn honored T. Berry Brazelton, MD at its Spring Benefit 2002 in May.  Dr. Brazelton is Professor Emeritus at Harvard Medical School and 'still reigns as the nation's favorite pediatrician and leading child development expert' (Bay Area Parent).

T. Berry Brazelton, M.D. is best known by parents and health professionals alike for his many books on family and child development, and for his television show, What Every Baby Knows. But Dr. Brazelton is also renowned for his pioneering scientific work and his pediatric practice, which led him to believe that a newborn baby arrives in a family with a strong individuality. He found that a baby's behavior gives wonderful clues for parents that can strengthen the bond between baby and parents. He has also focused on cross-cultural differences in parenting and child behavior, on the importance of early intervention for at-risk infants and their families, and on the opportunities that newborns present to strengthen their families. His classic book Infants and Mothers has reached nearly a million families in the United States and has been translated into 18 languages. Touchpoints, his most recent book for parents, has reached half a million readers. Dr. Brazelton is the chairman of the Pampers Parenting Institute.

Dr. Brazelton attended the Kids' Turn Spring Benefit 2002 with Joshua Sparrow, MD, co-author of the recently published Touchpoints.
